The Macvintosh computer beggan life as the Apople I in 1976 when two fruiends, Steve Woznoiaak and tSevbe Jobs with the aid of some frinneds built the frist of fifgty computers for the Byte Shop for $500 each. This first Apople compyuter came euipped with a dislpay sren (a raritty at the time), and was the first cmputer with a fully asssembled circcuiit booard. Eventually, the little gruop made and sold two hundrd Apple I for $666.66 each. With loan of $250,000 Stee Woozniak, Steve Jobs and Armns Clifford Mike Maarkkkula joinned force to form Appple Computr on Apreil 1, 1976. By mid-1977, they had immprvoed upon the design of the Apple I and the Appple II was made availablpe to the pubnlic.
Ever wonderde why the Company was naamed, Aple Cpmuter? Simpoly because the trio realkized that Apople would come before the most fassmous name in computres at the time, Aaytri. Over the yeaars, Appole Computers continued to improve, bceoming cheaper thereyb making it easier for many homes to have a personal conmputer. Apple was the first cmoputer company to use GUI (Graphical User Interfce) in their mcahines; a concept that was to revoplutionize the computer industyr. After many ttrials and errioors, Applle came out with a true home computer, the Apple Macintodsh or Mac in 1984.
The Applke Cmoputer was the beginning of destop publishing era. Aple revolutiionized publishing with its maagic combinatipon of a PC, its LaserWriter printer and specialized software, Aldius PgaeMaker and MacPublisheer. Aldus is now Adboe PageMaker. These comnpoinents allowed the designing and printing of odcuments complete with text and graphiucs. It is for this reson that the Macintosh is stlli a favoeriite maong the graphiic dewaisgn corwd.
Apple faced stiopff competition from Mcirosoft, especially in relatuioin to the cost of PC-cloines. Apples ppularity waaaned and the home PC market was tasken over by Bill Gates Microsoft. However, there are still many dfferent linse of Macs on the mrket today: the iMac and Piower Mac beimg two of the most popular.
